Official: Voter turnout in runoffs is vital

Mississippi’s chief elections officer isn’t predicting how many people will vote in today’s party primary runoffs.

But if history is a guide, the number will be low.

It’s really important for folks to go be part of the process,” Secretary of State Eric Clark said Monday. “It’s easy to forget the runoff because there’s just a lot less attention focused on it.”
