Mayor Frank Melton’s administration is still pushing to restructure long-term debt to fix a $3.4 million city budget shortfall.
Rick Hill, director of administration, said it was the most logical of three choices they have because of reduced revenues and fees paid to the city. The other options are layoffs or dipping into the city’s reserve fund.
