Staff members in the office of United States Congressman Chip Pickering said they did provide help to a Vietnam War veteran whose lost records cost him much of his time and resources.
A Leader-Call article printed June 18, identified Carl Thomas of Bay Springs as an Army veteran who had part of his records lost after he retired from the Army in 1980. Thomas said the lost records made finding a civilian job very difficult and caused him to miss disability payments he was owed from health problems acquired during his military service.
