Rejected candidate running city parks

By: Magnolia Tribune - May 16, 2007

The Clarion-Ledger, 5/16/7

Charles Melvin, rejected this month by the Jackson City Council as parks and recreation director, continues to run the department – only from a different location and with a different title.

Council members learned of Melvin’s title of assistant chief administrative officer at Tuesday’s special council meeting. And they learned about two other assistant CAOs with annual salaries in the $70,000 range. Melvin earns $79,950.
