Ben Allen and Kim Wade were both joined by Ramey Ford (Jackson Parks and Recreation) and Wydette Hawkins (local business owner) to talk about the need and the mechanics for re-opening Lake Hico which was closed in 1967.
Lake Hico basically starts at the dam on the west side of Northside, just south of 220. It is a 325 acre lake.
Initial plans are to have it open for fishing and light recreation.
Here’s to hoping this gets done and serves as a precursor for the Two Lakes project.

US and China take a step back from sky-high tariffs, agree to pause for 90 days
The U.S. has agreed to drop its 145% tariff rate on Chinese goods by 115 percentage points to 30%, while China has agreed to lower its rate on U.S. goods by the same amount to 10%.
