Regardless of political affiliation, there appears to be a consensus among Mississippi’s local officials: the PERS rate hike is bad for local governments and puts enormous pressure on leaders to raise taxes, cut services, or both.

Forget short-term tax gimmicks and focus on pro-growth policies

Instead of pushing short-term tax gimmicks that will have very little impact on our state's economy, leaders should focus on income tax elimination.
