JUSTIN GRAVES: Is Saban on the hot seat after one year at Alabama?

http://www.cullmantimes.com/localsports/local_story_190223059.html?keyword=topstory After a mediocre first season and an offseason full of off-the-field problems, is Alabama football coach Nick Saban on the hot seat. According to most Alabama fans: Absolutely not. But apparently there are a few people outside the state lines that have a slightly different opinion. While surfing the Internet earlier this week, I stumbled upon a Web site that featured an interesting college football poll — ranking coaches they believe are on the hot seat. On CoachesHotSeat.com, Saban’s stock has recently gone up. Or in this case, his seat has just heated up. That’s right. This Web site claims that Saban is currently on the hot seat at Alabama — ranked No. 4 in the country to be exact. After a 7-6 record, a win over Colorado in the Independence Bowl and the nation’s top recruiting class, Saban has been ranked No. 4 on CoachesHotSeat.com. On this poll, Saban finds himself surrounded by some of the misfits of college football. Washington’s Ty Willingham is ranked No. 1, with Wyoming’s Joe Glenn and Iowa’s Kirk Ferentz sitting in second and third. In the top 25, there are three other coaches from big-name programs. Notre Dame’s Charlie Weiss sits at No. 17 and Miami’s Randy Shannon is at No. 16. Louisville’s Steve Kragthorpe is ranked No. 21. But Saban is the only Southeastern Conference coach ranked in the top 25. According to this Web site, Tennessee coach Philip Fulmer’s seat is slightly cooler than Saban’s — ranking him at No. 26.
