Jackson City Council members said Thursday they are worried about how the city is selecting a new company to run its wastewater system as well as which company the city is leaning toward.
Those concerns have delayed the council’s vote on the five-year contract twice already. The delays caused the city to miss its Sept. 30 deadline.
Earlier this week, the council extended that deadline until the end of this month to give the city time to review its bid process and recommend one of three companies vying to run the three wastewater plants and 93 sewage pump stations.
The contract is one of the city’s largest, worth $7 million a year.
