BATON ROUGE — Tim Tebow does not drink beer, but if and when he does it should be Dos Equis.
For Florida quarterback Tim Tebow is the most interesting young man “» IN THE WORLD.
Dos Equis, which has a genius ad campaign featuring a silver-bearded, blue-eyed, rugged, 60ish “most interesting man in the world,” played by 71-year-old actor Jonathan Goldsmith, should come up with a new ad for the younger demographic featuring the 22-year-old Tebow preaching abstinence from alcohol.
This way, Dos Equis could appeal to drinkers and non-drinkers. This would take “drink responsibly” to a new level.
Goldsmith says in some of the commercials, “I do not always drink beer, but when I do, I prefer Dos Equis,” and he always finishes with, “Stay thirsty my friends.”
Tebow could say, “I do not drink beer nor should you, but when I am with people who do, I prefer they drink Dos Equis.”
As highlights of Tebow running, jump passing or diving head first into the line play, he would say, “Stay REALLY thirsty my friends. Don’t drink.”
This would work for Tebow has the interesting part down. There are striking similarities between him and the Dos Equis Renaissance Man, who is achieving cult status.
