Alabama’s Andre Smith immature, but talented
ANDRE SMITH hasn’t blocked anyone since last December. Yet the Alabama offensive tackle’s stock has been in a constant state of flux in the weeks and months leading up to this weekend’s draft.
A guy who many thought had a chance to be the top pick in the draft 5 months ago has spent a good deal of the predraft process tripping on his shoelaces.
His problems began in January when he was suspended from the Sugar Bowl because somebody in his family – he says an uncle – had illegal contact with an agent.
Then, in late February, he stunned NFL coaches and scouts by abruptly leaving the league scouting combine in Indianapolis without notifying anyone.
