Mullen’s first class catches seven WRs
STARKVILLE – Dan Mullen couldn’t sleep Tuesday night. Paranoia was keeping him awake.
He couldn’t stop asking himself, Have we got all our bases covered?
Mullen’s fears about his first National Signing Day as a head coach were unfounded, however.
Mississippi State signed 21 prospects to binding National Letters of Intent on Wednesday, which brings the total to 27 for the Bulldogs’ 2009 class. Six junior college players signed early and enrolled in January.
As he tries to revive a program that’s had only one winning season in the last eight years, Mullen will turn to the promising youth he’s bringing in as soon and as often as he needs to.
That’ll especially be true at receiver. MSU returns only three scholarship players with experience at that position, but Mullen signed seven Wednesday. He wants to have about a dozen on his roster at all times.
