Analysts see Vanderbilt’s stock rising
A number of college football observers anticipated Vanderbilt’s loss to Mississippi State last weekend, in much the same way as the clock struck midnight for Cinderella.
The No. 22 Commodores look to find their glass slipper today in a tough venue, as they play at 10th-ranked Georgia with the Southeastern Conference’s Eastern Division lead at stake.
“The challenge for Vanderbilt nationally is that they’ve got to go prove they are better than they’ve shown in the past,” said former Tennessee defensive back Charles Davis, who works as a college football analyst for the NFL Network.
“I don’t think, nationally, anyone was really shocked at all at what happened at Mississippi State. In fact, I’d say the vast majority of people picked Mississippi State because they kept waiting, thinking eventually they were going to lose and that would be the perfect type game for them to lose.”
