Back to drawing board for AU offense
AUBURN — Tony Franklin may not hear the criticisms, but he can sense them all around.
He’s OK with that.
Auburn’s offensive coordinator wasn’t satisfied with the team’s 3-2 win against Mississippi State on Saturday night. The Tigers’ attack finished with 315 yards — a number on par with the team’s 2007 numbers — but three fumbles and a series of penalties left Auburn almost helpless in its most desperate hour.
“I think it’s natural when you have challenges that people want to blame everybody. The first finger that needs to be pointed is at me,” Franklin said Sunday night. “I haven’t done as good a job as I should have done. It’s human nature whether it’s out in the open or not. I think it’s always there. It’s part of life.”
