Shockey may not fit with easy-going Saints locker room

Shockey may not fit with easy-going Saints locker room
Passion can sometimes propel a football team, and sometimes it can be divisive.

Tight end Jeremy Shockey brought both to the New York Giants. The New Orleans Saints could have used the positive version of that scenario last season.
The Saints’ locker room as a whole basically posed a bunch of laid-back type of players with the only exception coming when defensive tackle Hollis Thomas saw a piece of wardrobe on a media member he didn’t like.
Saints coach Sean Payton and quarterback Drew Brees brought more of a level-headed, workman-like approach when both arrived in New Orleans in 2006. Joe Horn was the last real flamboyant player on and off the field and his attitude clashed with Payton leading to Horn’s Saints career coming to an end.
The methodology pushed the Saints to the NFC championship game.
