Goal of Manning Academy: Development
THIBODAUX – As Peyton and Eli Manning’s careers grow, so has the Manning Passing Academy.
More than 900 campers converged on the campus at Nicholls State University to learn from some of the NFL and college football’s best at the three-day camp devoted to the passing game.
“We have a great group of kids,” Archie Manning said. “We had too many kids last year, so we scaled back to about 1,000 kids this year. With the no-shows, we’re right at 900. We usually have around 130 coaches from all levels of football and that’s around what we have this year.
“The most impressive thing is last night, we went around the room and had everybody introduce themselves and say how long they’ve been coming and we had some coaches say 13 years, 11, 9, 8, 7 – we had some guys that have been coming here a long time.”
