The Mississippi Manufacturers Association (MMA) Board of Directors voted unanimously to endorse Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith in her campaign for election to the U.S. Senate.
The board made that announcement Monday afternoon.
MMA President and CEO Jay C. Moon said, “We have chosen to support Sen. Hyde-Smith in her campaign for election because she has been an advocate for Mississippi’s manufacturing industry.”
MMA said in a statement that during her time serving as Mississippi State Senator, Mississippi Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce, and U.S. Senator, Hyde-Smith has proven to be a prominent supporter of manufacturers by being vocal on issues such as the agriculture, education, energy, environment, economy, jobs, national security, and tort reform. MMA claims Hyde-Smith also encouraged and worked with legislators to vote on bills that would help open foreign markets, improve competitiveness, explore energy and natural resources, ensure emergency and disaster preparedness, protect from domestic and foreign threats, promote job growth, reduce taxes, strengthen economic development, protect manufacturers, and much more.
Sen. Hyde-Smith also has a 100% voting record with the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM).
