Congressman Trent Kelly: @realdDonaldTrump wants to empower the poor, not a racist

By: Magnolia Tribune - August 29, 2016

Congressman Trent Kelly (R-MS01) appeared on the Paul Gallo Show Monday morning on SuperTalk radio to discuss state and national politics.

Gallo asked Kelly about Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s chances in November.

“I’m Trump,” Congressman Kelly said. “I think the polls are wrong and Trump is going to win this thing.”

Kelly said Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton would bring more of the same to Washington, something he wants to change.

Gallo mentioned the media’s attempt to paint Trump as a racist.

Kelly responded, saying, “I don’t see him as being a racist. I see him as wanting to empower the poor.”

Kelly noted Trump’s straight talk on the need to go into the inner cities and change the social and economic environments in those neighborhoods by providing jobs.
