Major upsets noted in DeSoto County
Legislative races held some of the biggest upsets of the night, especially for incumbent lawmakers hailing from DeSoto County.
Reps. Wanda Jennings of Southaven, Pat Nelson of Southaven and Forrest Hamilton of Olive Branch were all defeated Tuesday night. The three Republican lawmakers all voted against charter school bills, which was the main issue used against them by their opponents. Incumbent Republican Sen. Nancy Collins of Tupelo also was defeated.
