State releases school, district accountability ratings, 2 Pascagoula schools bumped up to A status
The Mississippi Department of Education has released this year’s school accountability results, but they look almost identical to last year’s results.
That’s because all districts were granted a waiver saying they would not be held accountable for declining performances on the MCT-2, a standardized test that’s disappearing this school year.
The waiver basically means that each school and district will retain the accountability label — rated on a grade scale as A, B, C, D or F — that they were assigned in the 2012-2013 academic year….
…Statewide, proficiency levels tests dropped for most grades as expected because the state tests did not reflect what students were learning.
