House Speaker Philip Gunn kicks off citizen tour
House Speaker Philip Gunn kicked off the second year of his cities tour to hear ideas from citizens in his hometown of Clinton.
Gunn will visit nine other cities over the next four days.
Today, about 80 people showed up at the Clinton Police and Justice Building to communicate with Gunn about issues affecting the state. There were those opposed to Common Core education standards and those who favorite the standards.
There were those at the meeting asking for state support of the Convention of States project, which advocates for self-governing and less federal intervention.
