Presley elected president of regional association of public service commissioners
Mississippi Public Service Commissioner Brandon Presley was recently elected to lead the Southeastern Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (SEARUC) for the upcoming 2013-2014 year, as its President. Presley, who is in his second term as Northern District Public Service Commissioner, was unanimously elected at the group’s recent annual conference in Asheville, North Carolina. Presley succeeds North Carolina Commissioner Tonola Brown-Bland. SEARUC is comprised of Public Service Commissioners from the eleven southeastern states and Puerto Rico.
“It is an honor to be chosen to lead such a prestigious group as SEARUC. Southeastern states share many of the same issues and challenges to protect the public interest, save consumers money and bring services to our constituents.” Presley said. “It is particularly important for SEARUC to continue to be the unified voice for our region of the nation. I look forward to working with my colleagues to carry on that tradition.”
