Repealer deal may mark end of Medicaid standoff
Lt. Gov. Tate Reeves this afternoon indicated the final “technical bill” reauthorizing Medicaid will have a one-year “repealer,” and that he believes Gov. Phil Bryant and House Speaker Philip Gunn are onboard with that.
The Mississippi Hospital Association has also issued a statement that it supports a one-year extension of the Medicaid technical amendments code section, and is asking lawmakers to “immediately approve renewal of the two technical amendments … with a one-year repeal date.”
This could be a deal that will prevent Democrats from blocking the final Medicaid reauthorization, and end the Medicaid standoff.
