On December 21, Oxford lawyer Christi McCoy filed a motion with the Mississippi Supreme Court to get the lawsuit filed by her client/buddy Hal Neilson reinstated after it’s third dismissal. Readers may remember the lawsuit that Neilson filed against the authors of Kings of Tort was dismissed once because McCoy and her client didn’t show up to a hearing in 2011 and most recently on summary judgment in late summer 2012.
In her letter (below), McCoy rolls on her client, the local UPS Oxford store and even the MSSC justices themselves. She claims that her client is not a wealthy man. However, Neilson was named the CEO of a publicly traded company, Here Enterprises, in May 2012. Granted, the stock has taken quite a tumble since Neilson was brought on board.
She also claims that she’s had real trouble with her mail service at the UPS Store in Oxford, where she has gotten her email for over a decade. But don’t worry, she’s thinking about changing where her mailbox is.
Finally, McCoy takes a swipe at the Supreme Court Justices themselves calling the $800 fee for copying the file “exorbitant”.
Not to be outdone, her previous letter blamed the local power company in Oxford and her voicemail service.
