Capitol Whisper: Rep. Linda Whittington Asking Speaker Gunn To Put Her Back On Education Committee
Word from the Capitol is that Rep. Linda Whittington, D-Schlater, is sending Speaker Philip Gunn a letter requesting that he place her back on the House Education Committee.
Gunn removed her earlier this month in what he called a shakeup related to a retiring House member. Gunn claimed he gave her a promotion in naming her vice chairman of Tourism, which was clearly not the case.
Whittington is asking Gunn to put her in Rep. Kevin McGee’s slot. McGee resigned Monday over ethics violations.
