Workers’ comp bill narrowly passes Senate
The third time around will be the last for the Mississippi House to consider whether to change the state’s workers’ compensation law.
Senate Bill 2576, amended to reflect the House’s original bill, passed for the second time Thursday on a 59-58 vote.
It is one of few controversial measures brought up since Tuesday’s committee deadline. Both chambers have begun working through their calendars so a long holiday weekend wouldn’t keep them from finishing before Wednesday, when another major deadline looms.
