Wicker Meets with Clarke County Officials
Mississippi Sen. Roger Wicker met with officials in Clarke County who are looking for help to grow existing businesses.
Officials shared their concern about a lack of a “truth in labeling” law for textiles made in America. Wicker helped get a similar law for the catfish industry.
His tour included a look at how Washington might be able to assist USA Fabrics to increase jobs.
“We have a great opportunity here. This knitting mill is one of the unique things in The United States, where they still make the fabric, they dye it, they cut it and sew it and turn into t-shirts,” said Wicker. “This is a great opportunity for our Made in America program.”
