Jack Wilson appointed to PERS Board of Trustees

Jack Wilson, deputy counsel to Governor Phil Bryant, has been appointed by the Governor to the Public Employees’ Retirement System of Mississippi (PERS) Board of Trustees. Wilson, of Madison, will complete the unexpired term of former gubernatorial appointee Paul Hurst and has been appointed to serve the full four-year term through April 30, 2016.

Wilson previously practiced with the law firms of Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP in Jackson and Mayer Brown LLP in Washington, D.C., and served as a law clerk for Judge Gerald Bard Tjoflat of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. He is a graduate of Harvard Law School and the University of Mississippi’s Patterson School of Accountancy

The 10-member PERS Board of Trustees includes the State Treasurer, a gubernatorial appointee who is a member of PERS, two retirees, two state employees, and one representative each of public schools and community colleges, Institutions of Higher Learning, counties, and municipalities.
