Brad Orrison of The Shed BBQ & Blues Joint summed up Tuesday’s record attendance at the annual Mississippi Coast Legislative Reception.
“The Coast threw a party for everybody in Jackson — and the rest of the state,” Orrison said. “I’m totally surprised at the crowd … We went whole hog this year.”
Indeed, The Shed did bring a whole hog, one of many culinary attractions from various Coast restaurants and casinos Tuesday night at the Trade Mart in downtown Jackson. The annual event, now in its 25th year, broke its attendance record, drawing an estimated 1,700 to 2,000 people. Attendance in the past has approached the 1,500 mark, but Tuesday’s topped it, with a line stretching into the Trade Mart parking lot even before the doors opened.
