Barbour’s tour stresses work, education
TUPELO, Miss. — Hitting on familiar Republican themes, outgoing Gov. Haley Barbour said Wednesday that Mississippians need to adopt traditional family values of hard work and educational achievement if the state is to improve the life of its citizens.
Barbour kicked off a three-city speaking tour, which serves as a sort of farewell for his Keep Mississippi Moving campaign before he leaves office next month after two terms as governor.
He speaks today in Jackson and Dec. 15 in Biloxi.
