There are some salacious new details in the ongoing civil remains of a Paul Minor-related case over whether or not former MSSC Justice Oliver Diaz can remain an attorney for Minor. USF&G has argued that Diaz will be called as a witness in the case. The following is a rebuttal from the Minor/Diaz camp arguing why Diaz should be allowed to remain Minor’s lawyer and hence enjoy some privilege from testifying.
USF&G and Paul Minor camp continue to wrangle over Oliver Diaz as counsel in case
The original case was covered in Kings of Tort, and this case involves the fallout of cases that USF&G allege were improrperly influenced by Paul Minor over then trial judge Wes Teel. Teel and Minor have both since been convicted as a result of these events. Minor’s appeal to the US Supreme Court was rejected.
