Volunteer firefighters could receive more benefits
HOUSTON, Miss.–(WTVA)–Mississippi’s Commissioner of Insurance wants to offer more incentives to the state’s volunteer fire fighters.
In the event of an emergency, volunteer fire fighters would work side by side but, not everyone gets paid.
A volunteer fire fighter performs the same duties for free.
New to volunteer fire fighters in Chickasaw county is workmen’s Compensation Insurance coverage.
That’s on top of the state’s line of duty death benefit of 65-thousand dollars and a federal government death benefit of 303 thousand dollars.
