Report: Barbour seriously looking at presidential bid
(WTVA) – A political Web site reports that Gov. Haley Barbour is taking a more serious look at possibly running for the White House in 2012.
The story by Hotline OnCall over the weekend attributes that to Ed Goeas, a Republican pollster and a Barbour advisor.
According to Goeas, the governor believes the focus now needs to be on the GOP winning back control of Congress in November.
But the advisor added that Barbour knows he has about two weeks after Election Day to make up his mind about seeking the Republican presidential nomination.
The story came out during the Southern Republican Leadership Conference in New Orleans where Barbour spoke as chairman of the Republican Governors Association.
