The Attorney General’s Office tonight arrested former crematory operator Mark Seepe following a seven-count indictment by a Hinds County grand jury.
Seepe, owner of Mark Seepe Funeral Directors & Crematorium, is charged with conversion. He allegedly took payments for pre-need funerals and “knowingly and willfully misapplied or converted the pre-need funds to his own personal use,” Attorney General Jim Hood said.
An investigation by the Secretary of State’s office found at least $38,230 missing from pre-need trust accounts.
