- Janus’ $2.1 million investment into the Greenwood operations will allow the company to manufacture gasifiers designed for the treatment of specialty waste streams.
The Mississippi Development Authority announced Friday that the Janus Organization is locating operations in Greenwood, creating 13 jobs.
Governor Tate Reeves welcomed the announcement, saying, “Janus Organization’s decision to locate in Greenwood will bring a new manufacturing operation and new jobs to the Delta.
“I’m proud to welcome Janus to our state and look forward to its success in Leflore County,” Reeves said.
Janus is a gasifier manufacturer whose products are used in the treatment of specialty wastes, including medical, pharmaceutical and rubber tire feedstock.
The gasifier technology breaks down waste at the molecular level using high heat to reduce waste volume while producing minimal emissions.
Janus’ $2.1 million investment into the Greenwood operations will allow the company to manufacture gasifiers designed for the treatment of specialty waste streams. Janus expects to begin operations in mid-2027.
“We are anxious and excited to work with the state of Mississippi, MDA and local officials to complete this state of the art manufacturing facility for our industry,” said Janus Organization Owner Lloyd Lipman.
The Mississippi Development Authority noted that the state agency is providing assistance through the Mississippi Flexible Tax Incentive, or MFLEX, program, while Greenwood and Leflore County are also supporting the project.
“Companies ready to invest need a location where they can move quickly from a decision to an operating facility. Mississippi has the workforce, available sites and business environment to make that happen. MDA is proud to support Janus as the company gets to work in Greenwood and establishes its manufacturing operation in the Delta,” said Mississippi Development Authority’s new Executive Director PJ Waldrop
