The phones tie the Mississippi Department of Corrections to the governor, the state attorney general and the state Supreme Court. But none of those phones is expected to ring.
The state Supreme Court already has rejected Berry’s appeals, as has the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans.
