Indicted execs have ties to Ga. GOP
Court papers show that Moultrie was asked during a polygraph exam about Ronnie Musgrove, a Democrat who was Mississippi governor from January 2000 to January 2004 — the period covering the development and failure of the beef plant.
Musgrove is currently running for the U.S. Senate in Mississippi. He was not named in the indictment.
Moultrie and Cawood contributed $1,400 and $500 respectively to Ehrhart’s campaign, according to campaign reports. Moultrie also donated to House Speaker Glenn Richardson and Secretary of State Karen Handel, both Republicans.
Cawood gave to GOP Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle’s (amex: CGL.A – news – people ) campaign. And he contributed a total of $10,000 to the campaign of then- Lt. Gov. Mark Taylor, a Democrat, between 2004 and 2005, campaign records show.
