Mississippi’s Senate delayed discussion of a House bill to allow baiting Wednesday, the second such action in as many days.
Instead, Sen. Tommy Gollott, D-Biloxi, chairman of the Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks Committee, asked Lt. Gov. Phil Bryant to allow H.B. 1089 to keep its place on the calendar.
The bill, which Gollott’s committee passed with minor changes, was the only general House bill on the Senate calendar. There is no rush for action on the bill; the next deadline is March 26.
