Democrat Ken Hurt says he has dropped out of the campaign in Mississippi’s 1st Congressional District.
Hurt, 71, was one of five people running for the Democratic nomination in the 1st District in the March 11 election.
Hurt’s decision, however, comes too late for his name to be removed from the ballot.
Hurt said he is asking people not to vote for him. He cited poor health as one of the reasons for his decision.
