Incumbent Republican State Treasurer Tate Reeves is the clear choice Nov. 6 in his race against Democratic nominee Shawn O’Hara.
O’Hara’s history as a perennial but unsuccessful statewide candidate makes his chances at unseating Reeves improbable, and as quixotic as O’Hara seeking to qualify as a candidate to simultaneously seek all eight statewide offices, plus five regional offices and nine offices in Forrest County.
O’Hara’s attempted multiple candidacies failed. But O’Hara offered little in the way of a serious campaign for treasurer and appears to know little about the job.
Reeves should be re-elected with relative ease. He is clearly the best choice.
