City of Jackson officials, already dealing with a money shortage this year, have not ruled out a tax increase for the upcoming budget year.
Mayor Frank Melton’s office sent out a news release late Wednesday stating a tax increase was one option for balancing the budget as a legal requirement in the event that has to happen.
City officials are trying to remedy a $3.4 million revenue deficit.
