FLOWERS – NRA Endorses Flowers

By: Magnolia Tribune - July 31, 2007

The National Rifle Association (NRA) formally endorsed Senator Merle Flowers in his re-election effort. The NRA, which has been America’s foremost defender of Second Amendment rights for more than a century, announced that it was proud to award Senator Flowers an A+ rating and endorse his re-election campaign.

“Senator Flowers has earned an A+ rating and our endorsement is based on his outstanding record of leadership and support in the Mississippi Legislature,” said Tara Mica, NRA State Liaison Director.

Flowers, who co-authored the “Castle Doctrine” in 2006 that allows Mississippians to protect their families, said that he was very honored to receive the NRA’s endorsement. “As a lifetime member of the NRA, I will continue to work to protect the freedom of gun ownership. I firmly believe the second amendment to the U.S. Constitution guarantees individuals the right to keep and bear arms for any legal purpose,” said Flowers.
