Connect Americans Now (CAN) Executive Director Richard T. Cullen released the following statement in response to the Trump administration’s newly released proposal for infrastructure investments:
“Expanding e-connectivity throughout rural America is critical to our nation’s economic future. We applaud the Trump administration and Congress for working to rebuild our nation’s infrastructure, but this proposal could do far more to bridge the digital divide for more than 19 million Americans who remain without affordable, reliable broadband access. In order to successfully connect rural America, Congress must ensure that funding for broadband is specifically reserved for that purpose and that state and local leaders can put that money to use deploying innovative solutions, including TV white space technology, which represents a huge leap forward in our ability to connect rural families and businesses.”
