- At least one person has been shot, local law enforcement confirms.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department has confirmed that a shooting occurred inside Ingalls Shipbuilding Friday morning around 7:30 a.m.
There is at least one victim whose condition is unknown at this time.
Law enforcement agencies from Pascagoula and Jackson County are one scene to support Ingalls security.

From Pascagoula Police Department at 8:55 a.m.
“This morning, on August 22, 2025, at approximately 7:32am, Officers were dispatched to Ingalls Shipbuilding in reference to a shooting. We can confirm there is one deceased individual. Officers are actively searching for the suspect at this time and do have a person of interest. Identities are not being released at this time. Multiple agencies are on scene. We ask everyone to please stay away from this area while First Responders work to secure the scene and apprehended the suspect. More details will be released once they become available.”
