Jackson Mayor Frank Melton told the Hinds County Board of Supervisors on Monday the era of tense relations between the city and county are over.
“The (days of) them and us is over. It’s about us and we,” Melton said.
In the past, the city and Hinds County have clashed on a number of issues including street repavings, dual booking systems for inmates and dueling communications systems.
Melton said the city and the county will work more closely to “move this county and this city forward.”
