Suspensions, Demotions Recommended at JPD
WLBT has learned that the internal investigation surrounding the arrest of a Sykes Elementary School teacher is over.
Jackson Police Department’s disciplinary review board has recommended the suspension and demotion of three employees. That includes a 15-day suspension for Commander Eric Wall and a demotion to sergeant.
Lieutenant Donald Gator has also been recommended for a suspension and demotion to sergeant.
Patrolman J. Daughtry has also been recommended for suspension.
The possible penalties are for the way the arrest of the teacher was handled. Carey Goza was arrested on school property before she received a probable cause hearing which is against the law. Now Chief Robert Moore must review the recommendations.
