Frank Corder has assumed the role of Managing Editor of Y’all Politics as of January 1, 2020.
Corder is no stranger to readers of Y’all Politics or statewide political media, having previously worked with the site in years past. He announced his resignation from the City of Pascagoula earlier this month, where he has been serving as the Acting City Manager and previously as the Assistant City Manager.
Corder will now oversee the day-to-day operations of Y’all Politics including content development and distribution, staff management, brand expansion, public engagement, and media partnerships. Alan Lange, Publisher, will continue to play an active role in the site and its development.
“Y’all Politics has become a reliable outlet for Mississippi political news and analysis over the last decade, raising the level of public policy discourse and providing a perspective that is missed by other news organizations,” Lange said. “Our platform continues to grow and we are constantly looking to add talent that can expand the brand and increase our coverage.”
Corder brings nearly two decades of experience in local and state government, campaign management, and public policy to this new role, as well as a background in hosting local radio and television programming, writing for a variety of media outlets, business and financial management, public and intergovernmental relations, and communications.
Corder served as a City Councilman, twice elected to represent his hometown of Pascagoula. He is a Certified Municipal Official through the Mississippi Municipal League, and has served on various committees with the National League of Cities. He previously worked with the Mississippi Secretary of State’s Office assisting with tidelands coordination and Voter ID implementation and later with the Mississippi Republican Party overseeing municipal elections, among other experience acquired during his professional career in the private sector.
“I am looking forward to expanding on Y’all Politics’ history of providing up-to-date, relevant news and analysis across the state, while advancing the dialogue on public policies that matter most to Mississippians,” Corder said.
“Y’all Politics has developed an unique niche in the delivery of statewide news, particularly as it pertains to the Legislature, state agencies and political campaigns,” Corder added. “We will be building on that legacy. While other media outlets are shedding resources, we will be adding them to provide Mississippians with the best political news coverage available.”
