From The Guardian
Yesterday, Lt. Governor Tate Reeves was engaged by Congresswoman Ilhan Omar on Twitter after he applauded the ICE raid in South Mississippi responsible for detaining nearly 700 illegal immigrants. Omar is part of the ultra-left wing group of House Members called “The Squad”, which includes Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts and Rashida Tlaib of Michigan.
Glad to see that ICE is working hard to enforce our immigration laws. 680 aliens detained in Mississippi today. We must enforce our laws, for the safety of all Americans. Well done @USAttyHurst and @realDonaldTrump.

He was then engaged by the Congresswoman who criticized his stance calling the raids ‘dehumanizing,’
How dare you applaud as hundreds of children are left orphaned by ICE. How dare you associate danger with this community days after a mass shooting targeting their community.
This is the language of dehumanization and its only logical end is violence.https://t.co/WlsgYVP9e9

Reeves fired back. He stood behind the decision of law enforcement and continued to support their work, calling her ‘no-border vision in Mississippi a non-starter.’
.@IlhanMN, it is wrong to demonize the brave work of our law enforcement and @ICEgov. They put their lives on the line for us; all you do is tweet. I stand with law enforcement. Your no-borders vision is a non-starter in Mississippi. https://t.co/ZBO6flQYtS
