Trey Bowman qualified to run for the Mississippi Transportation Commission,
Northern District on Thursday, January 31, with the Republican Party.
Bowman said, “I am running for Transportation Commissioner because I want the Northern District to be forward thinking to the future and not reacting to current, immediate needs. I want to set the District up in a place to have continued success and long-term sustainable growth. It would be an honor to represent the fastest growing area of the state as Transportation Commissioner and I will use my experience to ensure business and industry has the infrastructure to move goods and services in and out of our state.”
Bowman started his career with one of the nation’s largest agronomic product-based businesses. He used this experience to start a pipeline environmental company working in the Northeast and Midwest United States. Bowman’s first entrepreneurial success was in the forest products industry where he started a sales rep company specializing in pipeline construction mats. In this business, Bowman learned first-hand the logistics of shipping products in and out of the state.
“I want to grow Mississippi and through this office I can support and make it easier for the business men and women to move their products by air, rail, water and roads. I want to make Mississippi game days more accessible for the entire southeast to come into our state. I want more people to visit our state’s beautiful bike trails and scenic routes to increase tourism revenue to boost small town economies. We have to make our state accessible and I want North Mississippi to continue to lead with long-term plans
for the future,” said Bowman.
Bowman is committed to improving Mississippi by service in his community. He serves on multiple boards and most recently has served as Chairman of the Choctaw County Republican Party and as the county chairman for President Donald J. Trump campaign. Trey is member of the Holmes Community College Foundation Board and a member of Starkville Rotary Club.
Bowman resides in Ackerman with his wife the former Lara Frierson of Poplarville and their four dogs. They are members of New Zion Baptist Church in Weir, Mississippi.
