Today Senators voted to approve Gina Haspel as the next Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

She was confirmed in a bipartisan vote of 54 to 45.

Senator Roger Wicker:

“Gina Haspel will be the most qualified director the CIA has ever had,” Wicker said. “Her confirmation is also historic because she will be the first woman to lead the agency. She has spent her career at the CIA keeping Americans safe. At a time when our nation faces a myriad of threats around the world, I am confident Gina Haspel is the right person at the right time to lead our global intelligence programs.”

Gov. Phil Bryant (retweet):
