Governor Bryant and Chairman Nosef Applaud the President’s Joint Address to Congress
JACKSON, MS — Governor Phil Bryant and Mississippi Republican Party Chairman Joe Nosef issued the following statements tonight following President Donald J. Trump’s first Joint Address to Congress in Washington, DC.
Governor Phil Bryant stated: “Like President Trump said tonight, investing in the United States military will strengthen security domestically and abroad. Mississippi companies like Ingalls Shipbuilding, Raytheon, Winchester and Airbus stand ready to provide our warfighters with the finest available equipment and technology.
“I was also encouraged by the President’s plan to reduce the size of the federal bureaucracy, eliminate job-killing regulations on our business and industry, and his unwavering commitment to keeping his promise to secure the American borders. Great job, Mr. President.”
Chairman Joe Nosef stated: “Tonight, President Trump offered an optimistic, bold vision for our country, emphasizing his plans to grow our economy and put our national security first.
“His promises made to the American people are being fulfilled at a record-setting pace. I look forward to the positive impact this administration will have on our nation, and hope the Democrats will join with President Trump and Republicans in Congress to produce tangible solutions for the American people.”
